Over 20 years I have facilitated many workshops and courses based on understanding nature and ecology and all its wonder. I have also spent a long time supporting others to share their knowledge to community members.
With a focus on the love of plants and understanding our surroundings so we better care for them, workshops have ranged from tropical plant based cooking, to identifying native plants and landscapes, to nature therapy walks and sourcing natural art materials.
Accredited training and inspiring young people
While working at Greening Australia I was first tasked with working with young people who didn’t learn well in the school classroom, we developed a program with high school students to do certificates in Environmental Management. This involved hands on units taking them to landscapes, working with wildlife and working with plants in a nursery setting.

my thoughts on learninG
Often our “capitalist” world framework always looks towards schools/ universities as the place of learning- and this is very true in many ways, but the content is prescribed ,and there is so much room to grow in how we learn and how we teach young people. Learning happens everywhere and at all ages and the classroom is life itself and it is with this in mind that I like to teach or support teachers, as well as connecting people together, to place (and often to plants)
